small talk with old people.
working today at a building we put up last year doing some repair work.
the building is an occupied retirement home, which is ran by a lady who i was told "isnt well liked."
i understood why after i went to talk to her. long story.
spent the day going in and out of every suite in the 4 story building.
the job i was doing took less time than it took to quickly visit with each person in the building.
small conversations which usually consisted of things like "how are you doing today?"
"not good, not good at all actually. thanks for reminding me" or
"not so good today, dont ever let yourself get old sonny" or
"honestly i wouldnt mind if i just slipped away." or
"im fine, who the hell are you again?" or
"im good, are you here to give me a bath?" or some combination of those.
then, one guy who let me know how i should have done my job, said "have a good day son."
"you too" i said. and he told me "theyre all good ones."
they are all good ones.
theres something to tell yourself every day.

nice. 8 bags will usually do it. 10 is just a whole $0.40 and too much money. Glad to hear from you!
Leah
they are all good ones = new sticky note on my wall
the sad thing is that guy is right and most of the world doesn't even know it
oh, and i also appreciated the 'are you here to give me a bath?'..haha..old people are great.
you are not a good one
Kris,
I pulled out my electric guitar the other day and reminded myself how much I used to suck at playing that thing. It brought me back to the good old days where we used to all suck together. seriously though, i miss those sweet drum licks and mostly just having friends to play music with. Hope your enjoying life and doing well. Oh yeah and I still believe that it would be sweet to have a drum roll in every song. Come out to the coast sometime. Your welcome in our home always.
yeah it was a good time writing bad music and playing it for people, hey? those were the days. i miss road trips in marv.
Holy man! Sounds like you are moving up the corporate later. Got the guys in the office listenning to that straight edge punk stuff yet? I can see it now--Brian with a full sleave and Lynn full of piercings! You will rule the world! How about papa giorgio--thought he was making millions up north doing safety stuff?
Miss the early morning death metal in the mazda. Send me an e-mail sometime eh...reverendreid@lycos.com
