"MAYDAY, MAYDAY, WERE SINKING!" "what are you sinking about?"

http://www.infoplease.com/homework/listeningskills1.html

So on this page if you never looked at it, it has 3 steps for "what it really means to listen."
Real listening is an active process that has 3 basic steps.
Sure, thats great, but what if you use all 3 of those steps and then completely forget what you just heard?
What im getting at is that after Hearing, Understanding, and Judging, there should be a step that says Doing.
"Getting on top of things," "getting your ass in gear," or similar statements.

Ive been feeling like I need to work on my "doing" skills, so in turn I need to work on my listening skills.
Consequently, ive been wondering if people i talk to listen to me.
Dont read this and then try and think about if im talking about you not listening to me, cause im not.
I just wonder if im effective in my use of words and body language to get my point across.
Think about it sometime when youre talking to someone. Are they actually understanding, or are you stuck on step one of the "real listening process?" If they come back to you repeatedly saying "i thought you meant....." or other such things, then theres a gap in the process. So, how do you figure out if its the listening problem, or a speaking problem?

so you're saying you don't listen to what i say? dink..

every day i try to explain things to 26 ugandan kids who are learning english.

my new idea is to try getting really really angry and blaming them for not knowing more englishing.
